Sherae M. McNeal, Esquire has been practicing law since 1991. A graduate of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, Sherae started working for a well-respected law firm in Baltimore City, first as a law clerk in 1989, and then as an attorney. After being admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1991, Sherae handled various complex litigation matters, including personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, products liability, and family law matters.
In 1997, Sherae partnered with an experienced colleague to create The Law Offices of O’Guinn McNeal, focusing on estate administration, civil litigation, family law matters, personal injury and wrongful death cases. During her tenure at O’Guinn McNeal, Sherae successfully settled both personal injury and wrongful death cases for millions of dollars, helping devastated families deal with the sudden loss or severe injury of a loved one.
In 1998, Sherae was elected to the Orphans’ Court for Howard County where she served from 1998 – 2014. Sherae’s dedication and commitment to her work on the Oprhans’ Court was recognized when she was appointed as the Chief Judge in 2006. As a Judge of the Orphans’ Court, Sherae oversaw the administration of decedents’ estates and presided over estate litigation matters. Currently, Sherae is also licensed to practice before the Courts of Maryland, the Supreme Court of the United States, and the Federal Bar. She is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the Woman’s Bar Association, Howard County Chapter. Sherae also regularly volunteers as a judge in both local and regional mock trial competitions.
In July 2024, Sherae joined Greenberg Legal Group LLC as Of Counsel. With the Greenberg Legal Group, Sherae will continue her respected practice in family law matters, estate planning, estate administration, and estate and civil litigation.
On a personal note, Sherae formerly played soccer for the University of Maryland College Park and still enjoys playing soccer at the senior level. Sherae participates in several soccer tournaments each year at different venues across the country. In an effort to pass along her soccer and life skills, Sherae serves as an assistant coach at a local private school in Howard County. Sherae also enjoys playing pickleball, tennis, bowling and basketball. Sherae regularly volunteers with the Maryland Special Olympics Howard County Chapter, and at her local church’s food pantry and homeless shelter.
